ETTRICK, Va. (June 26, 2026) – Virginia State University Associate Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, Tiffani-Dawn B. Sykes, has announced the appointment of Frasier Brickhouse, III as the second head coach in the history of the Virginia State University women's soccer program, officially removing the interim designation from his title.
"This was a highly competitive national search with an outstanding pool of experienced candidates, but Frasier distinguished himself throughout the process and proved he was the right person to lead our program," said Sykes. "He has been part of building the culture of Virginia State Women's Soccer since day one, and while serving as interim head coach, he never approached the role as temporary. He continued recruiting, signing talented student-athletes, and moving the program forward. We believe in the culture he has helped establish, the standard he expects, and his vision for the future. I am excited to officially remove the interim designation and watch him lead our program into its next chapter."
Brickhouse enters his fourth season with the women's soccer program after joining the staff as an assistant coach during the team's inaugural season in 2023. In his role as assistant coach, he led national recruiting efforts while overseeing team travel logistics, budget coordination, and academic monitoring.
During his tenure at Virginia State, Brickhouse has helped guide the Trojans to unprecedented success, including the development of four USCAA All-Americans during the 2025 season and the program's first USCAA Division I National Championship.
" I'm honored to lead Virginia State Women's Soccer into its next chapter." said Brickhouse. "I'm excited to continue building on the foundation that has been established and foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and championship expectations while developing outstanding student-athletes on and off the field."
Prior to joining the Virginia State staff, Brickhouse served as the varsity boys soccer head coach at Matoaca High School. During his time leading the program, he helped develop more than 12 student-athletes who went on to play collegiate soccer. He also guided Matoaca to five consecutive playoff appearances and a Central District Championship in 2025.
Brickhouse earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from the University of Lynchburg and later received a Master of Science in Sports Management from Liberty University. He currently holds a US Soccer Federation "C" Coaching License.
Last season, the Trojans captured both the inaugural CIAA Women's Soccer Cup and the USCAA Division I National Championship. Virginia State returns 15 players from last year's championship squad, including three USCAA All-Americans: Loryn Sturgis, Tianna Roberts, and Morgan Parris.
