Women’s Bowling Set to Compete at CIAA Event 2

Ettrick, Va. (Jan. 23, 2025)—After a two-month hiatus, the Virginia State University Women's Bowling team is ready to hit the lanes again this weekend in the CIAA Event 2 in Richmond, Virginia, hosted by Virginia Union University.

The Trojans have shown steady improvement and resilience throughout the season. Their last competition was the Coppin State University Lady Eagles Invitational in Baltimore, MD. Janya Ward led the team with an impressive average of 155.6 pins per match, while Serenity Price-Jackson contributed a solid 123.4 pins per match. Despite tough matchups, the team gained valuable experience to build on for upcoming competitions.

Earlier this season at the first CIAA Event, standout performances by Mackenzie Miller and Janya Ward helped the Trojans secure three match wins, including two against Elizabeth City State University. The team has been working diligently over the break and looks forward to showcasing their progress in this weekend's event.

VSU" 's women's bowlers are focused and determined as they continue to compete against some of the best teams in the CIAA. Stay tuned for updates as the Trojans aim to make strides and set new benchmarks in the competition.
