Charlotte, N. C. (Feb. 9, 2026)- The Virginia State Bowling team finished with an 8-1 record in CIAA Event 2 hosted by Johnson C. Smith University over the weekend.
On the first day of the meet, the Trojans defeated Elizabeth City State, Bowie State twice, and Virginia Union. Janaya Ward scored 941 total pins followed by Mackenize Miller with 778 total pins. On day three of the meet the Trojans went a perfect 4-0. Ward continued her good tournament knocking down 790 total pins and Jada Robinson totaling 505 pins.
In the Baker format, the Trojans won 2 games against ECSU 692-633 and VUU 623-518. At the end of the tournament Ward was awarded the High average (192) and High Game (226) awards.
Next, the bowling team will get ready for the Morgan State University Invitational on Friday, February 13 through Sunday, February 15.
