Winston-Salem, N.C. (Feb. 12, 2024)- In day 2 of the Indoor Track CIAA the Virginia State University women's indoor track team placed in fourth with 57.5 points.
In the women's shot put Janiya Harmon finished with a throw of 12.39 meters which was good for fourth place and Gabrielle Gunn placed ninth with a throw of 10.85 meters. In the 60-meter finals Jayla Greene placed fifth with a time of 7.82. Emoni Coleman won silver in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:20.51 and Manuela Deigh (2:22.84) crossed the finish line in sixth.
Jaelynn Wynder-Hill placed fourth and ranked 72 in the NCAA in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.92. Manuelene Deigh won the bronze in the 3000-meter with a time of 11:00.50. Alandina Hyppolite (11:17.21) and Manuela Deigh (11:35.26) also had top-10 finishes, seventh and tenth respectively.
Fayetteville State would capture the title scoring 138 points, Winston Salem State was second with 115 and St. Agustine's was third with 90.5 points.
