Winston-Salem, N.C. (Feb. 17, 2025)- The Virginia State University Women's Track team competed in the CIAA Indoor Track Championships and placed fifth. Rose Wanjiru Muturi walked away with wins in the 3000-meter and mile run gold medals.  

In the 200-meter prelims Elisha Barnes finished fourth with a time of 25.27 and in the finals placed second with a time of 25.06. Jaelynn Wynder-Hill finished sixth in both the 60-meter hurdles prelims and finals with a time of 8.97 seconds. In the field events VSU saw some big points. Omeika Hogg placed seventh in the high jump with a mark of 1.48 meters. A'Marah Parrish finished seventh in the triple jump at 11.17-meter jump. Janiya Harmon finished in third place in the shot put with a personal best 13.08-meter throw.
