Ettrick, Va. (Sept. 16, 2026) – The Virginia State University bowling team has announced its 2026-27 schedule as the Trojans look to build on last season's CIAA Northern Division title.
Under the direction of Head Coach Anthony Gee, Virginia State will face a competitive schedule that includes six tournaments before the CIAA Championship in March. The Trojans will also compete in the newly unified CIAA bowling format, which will feature all conference teams competing in one division rather than being split between the Northern and Southern divisions.
"I'm excited about the upcoming season and looking forward to seeing how our new recruits mesh with the returning members of the team," said Gee. "I'm also excited about the CIAA moving to one unified division instead of being split into North and South divisions. I think it will bring a new level of competition and excitement to the season."
The Trojans will open the season at the Virginia Union Invitational, hosted by Virginia Union University, October 30-November 1.
Virginia State will then compete in its first CIAA event of the season, hosted by Shaw University, November 6-8. The Trojans will close out the month at the Lady Eagles Invitational, hosted by Coppin State University, November 15-16.
The final stretch of the regular season will feature three additional CIAA events. Event Two will be hosted by Virginia Union University, January 22-24, followed by Event Three at Fayetteville State University, February 19-21. The final CIAA regular-season event will be hosted by Livingstone College, March 12-14.
The season will conclude at the CIAA Championship, which will be held March 19-21 in Mechanicsville, Virginia.
