Mount Olive, N.C. (Apr. 12, 2025)- The Virginia State University Women's Track team performed well both on the track and in the field during the Trojan Relays hosted by the University of Mount Olive.
Janiya Harmon  finished 2nd over all in the Shot Put Throw with a 12.74m (41'9 1/2). She also finished 3rd in the Discus Throw with a 39.44m (129'4 1/4).
The jumpers also fared well with
Kenedy Shields in the High jump with a 1.57m (5'1 3/4) tied for 2nd and
Omeika Hogg finished 4th in the High jump with a 1.57m (5'1 3/4).
A'Marah Parrish finished 9th in the Long Jump with a season's best of 5.24m (17'2). She also finished 4th in the Triple Jump with 10.72. (35'2 1/4)
The sprinters did well with
Elisha Barnes running her season best in the 200m dash with a 24.85 finishing 6th overall.
Jayla Greene ran a season best in the 200m dash with 25.25 finishing 8th and 12.19 in the 100m finals.Â
Markeria King ran a season's best In the 200m dash with 25.37 and she finished 10th with a 25.67.
Rose Muturi finished 1st in the 1500m run with a 4:54.57 and 2nd overall in the 800m run with a 2:23.
Ananda Hamlin finished 3rd with a personal best of 5:14.77. She also ran well in the 800m run with a 2:29 and finished 4th overall.
Jaelynn Wynder-Hill running a 15.08 and finished 2nd overall andÂ
Skye Mitchell finished 3rd overall with a 15.15 in the 100 meter hurdles.
Women's 4x100 had a time of 48.11 which was aseasons best,
