Ettrick, Va. (Jan. 3, 2024)- The Virginia State University men's basketball team enters the game against Johnson C. Smith with an overall record of 7-6 and 2-1 in conference play while JCSU enters with a 6-4 record and 1-2 in CIAA play.
The Trojans come in scoring 71.7 points per game while allowing 71.5 points per game. Kendall Bynum and Tremere Brown both led the team with 12 points per game. Imhotep George is close behind with 11 points per game. Brown also leads the team bringing down 5.6 rebounds per game. Bynum is coming off a career game where he scored 23 points and won CIAA Player of the Week.
JCSU is scoring 84.6 points per game while only allowing 79.9 points per game. Avery Huggins is the do it all man for the Golden Bulls as he scored 19 points per game, which is good for third best in the conference, brings down six boards a game and shooting an incredible 61.3 % from the floor. Four other players for JCSU average in the double figure plateau to round out a well rounded offensive attack.
