ETTRICK, Va. (Sept. 28, 2026) – The Virginia State University men's basketball team has announced its 2026-27 schedule. Head Coach Lonnie Blow Jr. returns for his 14th season leading the Trojans. 

VSU opens the season on November 4 as Ferrum College comes to the Multi-Purpose Center (MPC). Six days later, the University of the District of Columbia will also visit the MPC. The Trojans will then host their annual Tip-Off Classic on November 13-14, with Shepherd and East Stroudsburg competing in this year's event. 

The conference slate begins with three straight home games against Winston-Salem State, Shaw and Elizabeth City State to round out the month of November. 

To begin December, VSU will compete in the CP3 HBCU Classic. The Trojans will first play West Virginia State on December 4 before facing either Winston-Salem State or Clark Atlanta on December 5. VSU will then begin a four-game road stretch to close out the December portion of the schedule. 

Starting the new year, Bluefield State will travel to Ettrick on January 2, followed by a home matchup against Claflin on January 7. After a quick road trip to Winston-Salem State, the Freedom Classic returns to the MPC on January 16, with VSU serving as the host school for this year's event. 

A three-game road trip will follow before the Trojans return home for their final four home games of the regular season. Senior Day will take place on February 11 when VSU hosts Bowie State. 

The Trojans will close out the regular season by traveling to Virginia Union before turning their attention to the CIAA Tournament, which is set to tip off on February 24.
