The Trojans honored senior catcher
Macy Beville during pregame. Beville is a criminal justice major minoring in sociology. She will be hired by the Colonial Heights police department after graduation. Beville is also set to attend the Crater Criminal Justice training academy in July.

Game 1 Final Score: Trojans 8 – Panthers 4
Player Highlights: Nia Hall pioneered the Trojans with three runs in the win.

The Trojans improve to a 12-14 overall record, 10-4 in the CIAA.

How It Happened:Â The Panthers scored a run at the top of the first inning, but their success would be halted after that.

VSU totaled 11 hits in the win, starting and ending the night with some good batting that only got better as the night progressed.

VSU started and ended the game with a burst of energy.

Nia Hall each scored runs to put the Trojans in the driver's seat 3-1 at the end of one.

Virginia Union scored a run in the third inning, to make it a single run game. The Trojans struggled to find their rhythm, enduring three consecutive scoreless innings.Â

Despite the up-and-down play, VSU managed to close out the game with four runs from Pratt,
Skye Corum,
Nia Hall, and
Macy Beville at the bottom of the sixth inning to win the game.
