Ettrick, Va. (Dec. 1, 2023)- After dropping their first conference game 72-62 to Fayetteville State, Virginia State looks to their game against St. Augustine's University. 

VSU averages 66 points per game while shooting 42.4%. Kendall Bynum and Tremere Brown both average double figures with 10.7 and 10.3 points per game respectfully. Bynum also dishes out 3.7 assists per game. Jared Clawson is the 3-pt specialist for VSU as he shoots 35.3% from behind the arc. 

SAU is also coming off a loss to Chowan University, 76-66 on Tuesday November 28. As a team the Falcons score 68.3 points per game while shooting 43%. Four players for SAU average in double figures with Nemo Johnson and Mac Hughes leading the scoring with 11.8 and 11.5 points per game. Johnson also pulls down 8 rebounds per game which is tied for the conference lead.  

Both teams come in looking for their first conference win as VSU sits at 2-4 overall and 0-1 in the conference and the Falcons are 3-3 and 0-0 in the conference.
