BOWIE, MD – The Virginia State Women's Track & Field team placed fifth while accounting for 56 points in the CIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship.
 
Kyera Frank was named the Food Lion Women's Outdoor Championship MVP for running events. She was named the 1,500 champion while finishing second in the 3,000 and the 800. Frank held the best time in the CIAA for the 1,500 (4:56.63) and the second best time in the 3,000 (11:38.43).

100 Meters
Shakell Williams finished in 12.99 which placed her fifth in her heat and 13^th overall while Amaya Jordan finished her race in 13.02 which placed her sixth in her heat and 14^th overall.
 
200 Meters
Amaya Jordan earned a third place finish in her heat and a seventh place finish overall behind her time of 26.15. Shakell Williams finished her race in 27.50, which placed her seventh in her heat and 16^th overall. Jordan went on to finish seventh in the finals behind a time of 26.62.  
 
400 Meters
Glenda Jenkins won her heat and placed third overall with a time of 59.32. Jordan Burzynski pushed herself to finish in a personal best 1:00.80 which placed her third in her heat and seventh overall. In the finals, Burzynski finished in sixth place posting a 1:02.24.

800 Meters
Alandina Hyppolite made her presence felt in the preliminaries finishing in 2:24.62 which placed her second overall and in her heat. Jada Harris was not far behind posting a third place finish in her heat and overall behind her 2:25.19 finish. Kyera Frank finished in third place in her heat and sixth overall with her 2:27.56 while Manuela Deigh finished fourth in her heat and eighth overall posting a 2:30.68. Frank went on to add a silver medal to her collection as the as a personal best 2:21.20 placed her second in the finals. Alandina Hyppolite earned a fourth place finish as she completed her race in 2:27.88. Jada Harris finished in seventh place while posting a 2:32.43 while Manuela Deigh finished shortly after in eighth place with her 2:35.04 finish.

1,500
Kyera Frank was crowned champion of the 1,500 after she finished in a personal best 4:56.53. Alandina Hyppolite earned fourth place after she finished in a personal best 5:07.29. Shashauana Valentine placed ninth behind her 5:27.24 finish. Ruby Williams finished in 11^th placed after posting a 5:35.56 finish.  

3,000
Kyera Frank got a silver medal for the second time as she posted an 11:28.36 finish. Ruby Williams went on to finish seventh as she completed her race in 11:53.64. Manuelene Deigh finished in 10^th place behind her 12:29.23 finish while her sister Manuela Deigh earned a personal best 12:33.23 while placed her 11^th.  

Long Jump
Ty'Nasia Walker represented the Trojans in the Long Jump placing ninth as her longest leap was 5.12 meters.

Shot Put
Savanna Drummer represented the Trojans in the Shot Put and nearly took first place after coming in second after she posted a personal best of 11.75 meters.

Discus Throw
Savanna Drummer represented VSU in the Discus Throw after she posted a personal best 31.08 meters which placed her in seventh.
