WEST CHESTER, PA – The Virginia State Men's Basketball will look to put a blemish on the record of West Chester (Pa.) as the undefeated squads prepare for a midweek showdown on Wednesday, November 16 at 7:00 p.m. in West Chester, PA.

This will be the first meeting between the Trojans and Golden Rams.
Last Time Out
For the first time since 2017 the Trojans start 2-0 in the season after hosting the Trojan Tip-Off Classic to kickoff the season. They defeated Millersville 72-63 before earning their second victory of the weekend against Shippensburg 76-71. VSU currently shoots a whopping 52% from the field yet shoot 29% from three-point range. They get to the free throw line 19 times per game and shoot 71%. They have forced 39 turnovers on the season and average five blocks a game. The Trojans have four players who average double figures to start the season. Terrence Hunter-Whitefield leads the team with 17 points per game while shooting 87% percent from the free throw line. He also leads with five steals as well. Zach Newkirk has been shooting 62% from the field averaging 14 points per game and leads the team in assists with 11. He earned nine points and nine assists in the win against Millersville then turned around and led the team with 19 points shooting 6-of-8 from the field against Shippensburg. Tremere Bown has settled in with Trojans nicely averaging 13.5 points per game along with four rebounds a game and a pair of blocks.
Stephan Morris has also contributes 11.5 points a game shooting a team leading 67% from the field.
Scouting the Golden Rams
Much like the Trojans, West Chester (Pa.) enters the matchup 2-0 following a pair of victories against CIAA teams. The Golden Rams started the season with a victory against Lincoln (Pa.) in overtime
83-81 then a 93-83 win against ECSU. They average 88 points per game shooting 44% from three-point range. They currently outrebound opponents by eight yet commit 14.5 turnovers per game.
Robert Smith currently leads the team with 23 points per game while shooting 50% from the field. He also shoots a sharp 7-of-16 from beyond the arc yet shoots 50% from the free thrown line.
