The VSU men's basketball team looks to snap their current losing streak and even out the regular season record against Fayetteville State University after losing the first meeting by three points. The Trojans loss their most recent match up against St. Augustine's 68-59 more than a week ago on December 9. Virginia State currently ranks third in the conference in free throw percentage (71%) and defensive rebounds per game (33). Francis "BJ" Fitzgerald currently leads the conference in free throw percentage going 90% from the foul line. Fitzgerald is also fifth in the conference in points per contest with 15.
Last Time Out
- Jonathan Norfleet and Francis "BJ" Fitzgerald accounted for 13 points each in the contest as Norfleet hit 6-of-11 of his shots from the field, added five rebounds and three assists. Fitzgerald tacked on six rebounds, three assists and a steal in the evening match up.

Jalen Seegars ranks third in the CIAA in points scored this season (184) while occupying the second spot in made three-pointers (25) knocking down 40% of his shots from long range. Defensively, Seegars ranks third in blocked shots. Cress Worthy is second on the team in scoring with 13 points per game while also leading the conference in total assists with 39 so far. Worthy has been hot lately, as the Guard has averaged 5+ dimes over the last three games. The Broncos also have a rim protector in Zio Cousins as 19 blocks sits him firmly in first place in the conference.
