The VSU men's basketball team is on the road for their fifth game in a row to play their first conference game against Fayetteville State University. Virginia State has had a rough ending of November dropping three-straight since the 99-95 victory over UMO. The Trojans will look to improve upon their 1-3 away record in the midweek matchup against the Broncos.  

 
Last Time Out
The VSU bench scored almost half of the team's points as the group scored 31 of the team's 62 points.
 
The VSU bench shined again this season outscoring the Mountain Cats 31-7.
 
The Trojans had at least one steal from six different players.
 
The Trojans shot 45% from the field in the afternoon matchup while shooting 50% at the half.
 
Daryl Mackey and Ethan Wilson were key contributors off the bench. Mackey and Wilson ended with eight each while going 2-of-3 from three-point range
 
Francis "BJ" Fitzgerald led the team in scoring yet again with 10 points on 4-10 shooting along with three rebounds.
 
Antwan Miles and Terrence Hunter-Whitfield finished with eight while Hunter-Whitfield had a team-high 10 rebounds and Miles had a team-high four assists.

 
Scouting the Broncos
The Broncos of Fayetteville University are 3-4 after losing three of their last four games. Offensively, the Broncos have struggled to find consistency shooting 37% from the field and 31% from beyond the arc. FSU also leads the conference in turnovers. However, they do a great job of drawing fouls shooting 12 free throws a game. The Broncos make their defense work as their offense as they score 15 points per game from turnovers. Defensively, FSU hold opponents to just 29% from beyond the arc. The squad is known for their rim protection averaging four blocks per game. Jalen Seegars averages a team-high 16 points per game while also leading the team in blocks with 10 blocks. Seegars also leads his team with 40 three-pointers along with a 43% three-point percentage. Dorian Dixon averages 14 points this season with his best game came against Augusta where he scored 24 points while grabbing 10 rebounds.

 
Series History
The Trojans currently lead the series 11-7 along winning three of the last four matchups. The Trojans won the last matchup on the road at FSU 68-62.  Walter Williams had a game-high 16 points going 6-of-7 from the field and 2-of-3 from three.
