ETTRICK, Va. (February 6, 2020) – The Virginia State University bowling team is gearing up to take the lanes in Salisbury, NC at the 2020 CIAA Roundup, hosted by Livingstone College on February 7-9.
THE BASICS

WHAT TO EXPECT
The Trojans will be competing in the 3-day CIAA Roundup hosted by Livingstone. On day 1 and 2, VSU will collect pins based on traditional team matches. The final day of the Roundup will be Baker's matches.
THE OPPOSING TEAMS
Nine teams are expected to take to the lanes for the Roundup. The Northern Division squads are Bowie State, Chowan, Elizabeth City State, Virginia Union and Virginia State. The Southern Division teams are Fayetteville State, Johnson C. Smith, Livingstone, and Shaw.
LAST EVENT
VSU controlled the lanes at the CIAA Event II with a pinfall count of 9,183. Despite tying with Bowie State with a 10-2 event win/loss record, the Trojans had a 316 pinfall advantage over the Bulldogs to place first.
Three Trojans represented VSU in the top 10 finishes during the event.
Trinity Black (173.13) secured the 4
th place spot,
Jessie Royall (167.50) finished in 8
th place and
Victoria Buskey (162.00) rolled in with a 10
th place finish.
CHAMPIONSHIP MODE
Under the leadership of head coach Ronald Simms, the Trojans will continue to work hard on and off the lanes as they look to improve for the 2020 CIAA Championship on March 21-22, 2020 in Virginia Beach, VA.
