ETTRICK, VA- After finishing the 2019 regular season with a 17-21 overall record, 11-6 in the conference, the Virginia State University softball team are ready to compete for the 2019 CIAA Championship title on April 29-May 1. All contests will be played at Moyer Park in Salem, VA.

Under the leadership of the head coach Lynn Gilbert, the Trojans enter the championship segment as the no. 2 team in the CIAA Northern Division. VSU will face the no.3 CIAA southern seed, the Golden Bulls of Johnson C. Smith University, at 12pm on April 29 to begin championship play.

The double elimination winners and losers bracket play will begin at 5pm and 7:30pm to find out who will advance to day 2 of the championship.  

All games during this year's softball championship will be streamed live on the CIAA Sports Network (https://theciaasn.com/).  Each game will also feature live stats throughout the championship.
