Box Score 2 ETTRICK, Va.- The Virginia State University softball team fell short to the East Stroudsburg Warriors in a doubleheader matchup on March 11.
In game 1, the Trojans took a 10-5 loss.
Senior Camryn Smith (Powhatan, VA) led the Trojans with 2 runs. Sophomore 
Maya Bailey (Chesterfield, VA), senior 
Lindsey Wilkins (Nelson, VA) and senior 
Mckenzie Love (Shippensburg, PA) each chipped in a single run.
Rookie 
Dominique Mulero (Chatham, VA) and senior 
Alexandra King (Annandale, VA) each tallied 2 RBI's for the Trojans.
Despite the game 2 loss, VSU secured game high of 10 runs for the season.
Smith along with teammate junior DeMone Brickhouse (Southhampton, VA) controlled the runs for the Trojans, each tallying 2. Running in with a team effort were junior 
Marissa Hughes, sophomore 
Tatyana Jordan (Chesterfield, VA), junior 
Laricesa Miles (Emporia, VA), junior 
Briana Pierce (Halifax, VA), sophomore 
Janay Joseph (Eastern Shore, VA) and Bailey.
The Trojans had a great first inning with 3 runs, but an even stronger 4
th inning with 6 runs. In the 4
th, Joseph secures the only triple of the game for the Trojans.  
Although it was a great game 2 for VSU, the team took a 19-10 loss to the Warriors.
VSU will take to the field on Sunday, March 13 to face Howard University at the VSU Softball Field. The first pitch is set for 1pm.
