CHARLOTTE, NC- The #1 seed Northern Division Champions Virginia State University Trojans (20-5, 14-2) will take on the Broncos of Fayetteville State University (14-14, 8-10) Thursday, February 25 in the CIAA Basketball Tournament Quarterfinal matchup. Tip-Off is slated for 3 p.m. in Time Warner Cable Arena. It will mark the second meeting of the teams this season. Campus Insiders (@Campusinsiders) will stream the basketball game. Campusinsiders.comThe Trojans bring a four-game winning streak into the tournament, coming off a 66-62 overtime home win over Lincoln University on Saturday. VSU defeated the Broncos in a highly offensive contest 98-92 in their first matchup in December. The Trojans was led in scoring by Junior Guard

FSU knocked off the Hawks of Chowan University 62-54 to advance to the Quarterfinal matchup against the Trojans. The Broncos enter the matchup with two victories in the first two days of the tournament. The Broncos are offensively and defensively led by Junior Forward Michael Tyson (Kinston, NC) who is averaging 16.8 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game.
During the 2015 CIAA Tournament the Broncos upset the Trojans 93–72. Prior to that meeting the Trojans and Broncos met at the CIAA Tournament in 2013. Virginia State won that first round matchup 75-65.
