Box Score 2 RICHMOND, Va.- The Virginia State University Trojan softball team took down the Virginia Union University (VUU) Panthers on April 25 and 26. Despite the inclement weather, the Trojans were victorious with a 7 inning score of 5-0 on day 1 and a 6 inning score of 10-2 on day 2.
In game 1, junior Lindsay Wilkins is credited for the win pitching the first 5 innings, giving 6 strikeouts. Rookie
Rebecca Elder is credited with the save after taking the mound for the remaining 2 innings and giving 2 strikeouts.
Junior
Cameryn Smith led the Trojans with 3 RBI's and 2 runs while Wilkins and Elder each secured a single RBI. Senior
Jameshia Smith tallied 2 runs for the Trojans while her sister senior
Jamilia Smith tallied a single run bring the final score to 5-0.
VSU showed up and showed out in game 2 with 6 runs in the 1
st inning. Several of the runs were secured on a wild pitch by the Panthers.
The Panthers were only able to score a run in the third and fourth innings.

Junior
Mckenzie Love is credited for the win after pitching 4 innings and giving 5 strikeouts.
The Trojans will be back in action for their last home game of the season on Monday, April 27 for their Trojan Softball Senior Day. The single game against the VUU Panthers is set for 5 p.m.
