Box Score ETTRICK, Va.- The Virginia State University Trojans Men's Basketball team had an explosive night against Washington Adventist University Shock resulting in an 99 - 64 victory.

VSU trailed the WAU in the first five minutes of the game until a jump shot by junior Melvin Gregory (Weems, VA) tied the game 11-11. The Trojans never looked back and went into halftime with a 20 point lead and the games momentum in their hands.

The Trojans exhibited unselfish play, sharing the basketball, which contributed to their success offensively over the Shock.

"We did a good job of being unselfish, playing the game, and moving the ball to the open man," said Head Coach Lonnie Blow, Jr. "It was good for us to get out there and get the bad taste out of our mouths from the lost we took last weekend. It's always good to go out on a win, we have a little lay off here we don't play again until December 6."

VSU will take the court against Virginia Union University at 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 6 at the Arthur Ashe Center in Richmond, VA.

The Virginia State Department of Athletics annual 1,000 cans, 1 goal campaign initiative is underway. The canned food items collected will be donated to the local food banks. The Department encourages all fans, alumni, faculty and friends to bring a canned food item to all of the home basketball games this season.
