Ettrick, Va (Sept. 9, 2025) – The Virginia State University Men's Basketball Head Coach Lonnie Blow, Jr. has unveiled the 2025-26 season schedule.
The Trojans open the season at home with back-to-back contests against Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) members Shepherd (Nov. 14) and East Stroudsburg (Nov. 15). The following week, VSU continues its early non-conference slate against Chowan (Nov. 18) and University of the District of Columbia (Nov. 22) before a highly anticipated game versus Division I Delaware State (Nov. 26) in Washington, D.C.
"As usual, our 2025-26 Men's Basketball schedule is a tough one, including games vs PSAC schools Shepherd, East Stroudsburg, and Gannon Universities," said Head Coach Lonnie Blow, Jr. "We also have DII powerhouse UNC Pembroke on the schedule again, and we play Division I Delaware State in a CIAA /MEAC challenge game in Washington DC. Our strong non-conference schedule always helps us prepare for our tough league games, and once again we feel like we've done that with this schedule."
After competing in the Gannon University Tournament (Nov. 29–30), the Trojans return to the VSU Multipurpose Center for a six-game home stand before the Christmas break including conference games against Fayetteville State (Dec. 11), Claflin (Dec. 13) and Shaw (Dec. 16). Then after the new year the Trojans welcome Cheyney to the Multipurpose Center.
The Trojans dive into the heart of CIAA road play as they have three straight road games against Livingstone (Jan. 8), Johnson C. Smith (Jan. 10), Winston-Salem State (Jan. 13) and rival Virginia Union (Jan. 17) will be played at the MPC for the Freedom Classic. Then to end January, VSU welcome Lincoln (Pa) (Jan. 28) and Bluefield State (Jan. 31) for a rematch of the CIAA Tournament Championship game. Senior Day will be February 21 against Virginia Union on HBCU Go right before the CIAA Tournament.
