Trojans to Send Three Players to NBPA/HBCU Top 50 Camp

ETTRICK, Va. – The Trojans are sending three players to this year's National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) HBCU Top 50 Camp.

Taking place at Morehouse College from July 31 to August 2, this invite-only event features the top HBCU basketball players in the country. Virginia State University will be represented by Jacob Cooper, Jared White, and newly acquired transfer Amare Wimbush.

Cooper earned All-CIAA Backcourt honors, averaging 14.3 points, 5.8 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game. He served as the floor general who led the Trojans to a CIAA Championship last season.

White averaged 8.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per game last season for the Trojans, scoring a season-high 20 points in an NCAA Tournament win against West Chester on March 15.

Wimbush, a transfer from Bowie State University, was named to the 2024–25 HBCU Division II All-American Basketball Team. He averaged 12.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game for the Bulldogs.

"I think it's a special opportunity for those guys to go down there, be a part of the combine atmosphere, and work with those NBA guys," said Head Coach Lonnie Blow Jr.
