RALEIGH, NC – Junior Jamilia Smith (Halifax, VA) and junior Sade Holmes (Caroline County, VA) combined for six RBI's to lead the Trojans to victory over the Lady Blue Bears of Livingstone College, 12-0 in the CIAA Softball Round-Up at Walnut Creek Softball Complex on Sunday, March 23, 2014.

It was a lop-sided affair as the Trojans trampled Livingstone (4-1 overall) who struggled to score and gain hits.

VSU scored four runs in the first inning, two runs in the second inning and six runs in the third inning to end the game after just five innings of play.
The Trojans collected a total of 9 stolen bases, adding 14 hits as VSU earns its fourth straight conference victory.

Freshman Marissa Hughes (Upper Marlboro, MD) pitched a total of five strike outs, shutting out her opponents while Smith was a perfect 4-of-4 from the plate, earning 3 runs.

The win improves VSU to a 9-6 record overall, 8-0 in CIAA play.

The Trojans look to face Johnson C. Smith in the last game of the CIAA Round-Up at 10:00 am in Raleigh, NC at the Walnut Creek Complex.
