RALEIGH, NC- The Virginia State University softball team played in a two day tournament against several institutions on February 22-23. The team took a hard hit on both days finishing the weekend with a 0-4 overall record.
The first opponent of the tournament and of the season was West Virginia State University. The Trojans fell short of victory with a final score of 4-5.
Later that day, Virginia State took on Seton Hill, finishing with a 2-3 loss. As the team worked through their last game of the day against Lee McRae, issues with the lights cause the game to be stopped at the fourth inning
On February 23, after taking on Fairmont State, 1-13, and Shippensburg, 1-4, the Trojans return home ready to improve for the next match up against New York Institute of Technology on February 28.
