Tough Loss for Trojan Softball on Saturday Lead to a DRIVING WIN on Sunday

Murfreesboro, NC. - What a loss it was for the Trojans on Saturday, March 30th as they competed in a doubleheader against Chowan University.  The Trojans were able to get on the scoreboard in the 3rd inning due to an error by the Hawks short stop allowing Jameshia Smith to score.  During the 4th inning with Jada Ross on 1st base and Verlisha Brandon hitting a triple to right field gave the Trojans another point on the board.  In the top of the 7th inning the Trojans were down 2-3.  The bases were loaded,  no outs and Endya Bailey was at bat and everything turned around for the Trojans as the Hawks made a triple play.  It was unbelievable, Trojans loss 2-3. 

In game two the Trojans got ahead early with a 3 point lead over the Hawks in the 4th inning.  In the bottom of the 7th inning the Trojans were still leading 5-2 with 2 outs and the Hawks was able to tie the game up at 5.  Going into the 8th inning the Trojans were unable to score and the Hawks went on to win 5-6. 

Elizabeth City, NC - After the loss on Saturday, the Trojans turned things around as they competed against Elizabeth City State University to win both games on Sunday, March 31st.  The first game Endya Bailey started things off for the Trojans by hitting her first homerun of the season.  The Trojans added 5 runs to capture the win 6-1.

In game two the Trojans came back even stronger with a 2-0 lead at the end of the 3rd inning.  By the closing of the 5th inning the Trojans had scored a total of 12 runs to close the second game out with a victory (12-0).   

The Trojans will head to Virginia Union University on Tuesday, April 2nd for a doubleheader in hope of increasing conference play to 12-3.
