Allen Harris led the Trojans with 15 points, but turnovers hindered a Trojans victory after a dominate first half of play in a 61-54 loss to Lincoln on the road.

VSU finishes the season with a 6-10 record in league play and a 12-14 overall record after Saturday's crushing loss at Lincoln University.

VSU struck early and fast with some inside scoring from Jacolby Wells. Wells asserted himself inside the paint with a dunk to start the game. Christopher Grier continued the Trojans attack knocking down a three-pointer giving the Trojans an early 5-0 lead to open the game. Christopher Grier then scored a layup, pushing the Trojans up 7-2. Grier has been a factor in both of the Trojans previous matchups. He scored a combined 45 points in VSU's last two games.

The Trojans maintained control of the opening half with an impressive 20-6 lead by the 8:46 mark. VSU led by ten points at the break with a 27-17 advantage. Virginia State struggled from the field in their last meeting with Lincoln University. The Trojans shot a horrific 0-9 from beyond the arch and 37% from the field in their previous game against Lincoln. Not this time, the Trojans finished the first half shooting a little under 50% from the field and 3-9 from beyond the arch. The Trojans owned the paint in the opening half. VSU finished the first with a 24-12 advantage on the boards.

Shortly after Jacolby Wells slammed in his second dunk of the night from a James Vann pass, VSU's lead grew to 14 points. Christopher Grier was at it again knocking down a contested three-pointer and extending the Trojans advantage to 31-19.
However, turnovers began to plague the Trojans midway through the final half of play.  Lincoln finally managed to cut the Trojans advantage back to single digits. Allen Harris kept the Trojans ahead knocking down a three-pointer lifting the Trojans back to double digits, 41-29. Another Trojans' turnover allowed Lincoln to cut the Trojans' 14 point lead back to single digits, 45-37. Lincoln's Will Cole cut the VSU lead down to 45-41 after a layup off of a turnover.

Lincoln cut the Trojans lead down to three points after a bucket and free-throw by Will Cole. VSU's Allen Harris stopped the bleeding temporarily with a three point play extending their lead to 48-42. Unfortunately Lincoln tied it at 48-48 with 4:12 remaining in the game.

Lincoln stole the lead late as the Trojans went cold in the final half of play. The Lions took a small lead late and ran with it for a come from behind, 61-54 victory.

Allen Harris led the Trojans with 15 points. Christopher Grier finished with 11 points. The Trojans shot a little under 40% from the field and finished with a plus ten advantage on the boards. Twenty four turnovers led them to a loss in their final game of the season.
