th in Petersburg, VA.

Kenny Mitchell added seven points with six rebounds also in the first half as the Trojans remained close but trailed 34-32 at the half.
Shaw picked up the defensive pressure in the second half and shot 63% from the field. Virginia State was 35% from the field led by
Kenny Mitchell's 13 points in the second half. Shaw went on several scoring runs and extending their lead to double-digits late in the game and closed out the Trojans 78-60.

Allen Harris led the Trojans bench with 16 points and three rebounds.
Shawn Porter recorded a game-high 10 rebounds for the Trojans with four points.
