Mill Spring, N.C. (Feb. 16, 2026)- The VSU Men's Tack and Filed teams spen the last two days competing in the CIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships and placed fourth with 65 total points. 

 In the 60-meter prelims Leonie Bentley ran a new personal best 6.83 to qualify for the finals. In the finals he ran a 6.90 which was good for fifth. Bentley also ran in the 200-meter dash where he placed third, winning the bronze medal. Jamiel Bowers placed fifth in both the 60-meter hurdles prelims and finals. Emmanuel Kipchirchir brought home the silver medal in the 1 mile run with a time of 4:23.31. Emmanuel Williams won third place in the 5000-meter run with a time of 16:01.10. Then both relay teams, distance and 4x400 placed third to conclude the running events. 

In the field events the Trojans has three men place in the top 10 of the triple jump Jeryll Gaines (14.23) in fourth, David Norman (13.84) in sixth and Keyonte Midgett (13.73) in ninth. Kwame Whitaker and Midgett placed back-to-back in second and third respectfully in the long jump.
