Baltimore, Md. (Apr. 19, 2025)- The Virginia State University Women's Track & Field team performed well at the Morgan State Legacy Meet with the field athletes shining.

Janiya Harmon 5th over all in the Shot Put Throw with a season's best of 12.86m (42'2). She also finished 7th in the Discus Throw with a 38.53m (126'05). 

The jumpers also feared well with Kenedy Shields in the High jump with a 1.55m (5'1) tied for 3rd and she finished 10th in the long jump with a 5.20m (17'0) and Omeika Hogg finished 6th in the High jump with a 1.50m (4'11).
A'Marah Parrish finished 8th in the Triple Jump with 10.74. (35'03)

The sprinters did well with Elisha Barnes finished 12th overall in the 200m dash with a 25.39. Jayla Greene ran a 12.28 in the 100m semifinals.

Rose Muturi finished 1st in the 5000m run with a season's best of 18:08 and 3rd overall in the 1500m run with a 4:44.81. Ananda Hamlin finished 14th with a personal best of 2:26 in the 800m run. She also ran well in the 1500m run with a 5:22and finished 16th overall. The Hurdlers fared well with Desairey Gray running a 1:08.88 and finished 8th overall. 

Women's 4x100 finshed with a time of 47.75 (Jayla Greene, Elisha Barnes, Eden Ramirez, and Markeria King)
