BALTIMORE, MD - As the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) prepares to kick-off the 2023 CIAA Men's Basketball Tournament, the conference announced the 2023  All-CIAA Men's Basketball Team on Monday afternoon in the CIAA Men's and Women's Tip-Off Awards.

Representing the Trojans in the CIAA Backcourt is Senior, Danville, VA native Francis "BJ" Fitzgerald.

Francis "BJ" Fitzgerald  is the CIAA's 2023 three-point champion leading the conference with 67 made three-pointers shooting 42.4% from beyond the arc. He also continues to consistently stuff the stat sheet as he ranks second on the team in assists with 70 (9^th in CIAA). Fitzgerald has been committed to crashing the boards this season despite spending most of his time beyond the three-point arc as 7.2 rebounds per game leads the team (4th in CIAA). The sharpshooting rebounder averages 15.6 points per game (4^th in CIAA). He also ties for 14^th in the CIAA with 13 blocks.

Fitzgerald and the VSU men's basketball team will open postseason play at the CIAA Basketball Tournament on February 23 as a No. 3-seed facing the winner between Lincoln (Pa.) and Johnson C. Smith in the quarterfinals. Tip-off is set for 6:00pm at the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, MD.
