VIRGINIA BEACH, VA- The VSU Women's Indoor Track and Field team are opening the 2022-23 season under the helm of VSU's 1
st year Head Cross Country/ Track and Field Coach, Frank Hyland.
After only arriving to Trojan Nation just a few short weeks ago, Hyland will be leading the Trojans to the VCU Indoor Invitational on Sunday, January 8 in Virginia Beach, VA.
Series History
This will be the Trojans first time participating in VCU's inaugural indoor invite. The site of this weekend's indoor track and field meet will also be the host location for the 2023 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships in March.
The Invitational
Although the Trojans will be competing against a few CIAA institutions (Bowie State, St. Augustine's and Virginia Union), VSU will be also facing Virginia Wesleyan, Norfolk State, Howard and Hampton; in addition to the host VCU.
With new leadership and a mix of new and returning talent, the Trojans are prepared for the season opener. Several highly anticipated returners for the team from last season include:
