Frank Hyland's squad had their best outing of the season in the Marlin Invitational as the throwers led the Trojans with yet another dominating performance.
60 Meters
Jaelan Black placed third in his heat and seventh of 22 overall in the preliminaries behind his 7.23 finish. Kavante Dawson placed 11th posting a time of 7.28. Black went on to place sixth in the finals finishing in 7.18.
200 Meters
Akeem Cooper placed 22nd finishing in 27.21 in his first 200 race of the season.
400 Meters
Tariq Garrison won his heat and placed ninth overall after posting a personal best 52.99.
800 Meters
Savion Spencer placed 11th after finishing in 2:24.40.

Gabriel Miles finished 11
th with a personal best 9:49.53.
60 (Hurdles)
Jahaz Morgan placed first in his heat and third overall behind his time of 8.60 in the preliminaries.
John Williams placed fifth after finishing in 8.94 while
Savion Spencer finished in 10.57 which placed him 10
th. Morgan was able to place third in the finals behind his personal record 8.49 sprint. Williams placed fifth in the finals after posting an 8.93 sprint. Spencer displayed great improvement in the finals after he finished in 9.30 which was a personal best.
High Jump
Joseph Briscoe placed second of eight competitors after his best jump got up to 1.92 meters.
Long Jump
Shaukeeme Mitchel-Watson earned a new personal best after his best jump covered 6.49 meters which placed him sixth.
Triple Jump
Jahaz Morgan placed second of six competitors after his best jump covered 13.78 meters.
Shot Put
Once again,
Atrell Williams dominated the shot put as his best throw covered 14.76 meters which placed him first of 15 throwers. His counterpart
Isaiah Ramadane placed second after his best throw covered 14.43 meters which was also a season-high for him.
Devonte Moore posted his third straight top-five finish after posting a 14.18-meter toss which placed him fourth. Right behind Moore came
Mark Banbergerwith his 12.79-meter toss which placed him fifth.
Christian Boone placed sixth after his best throw covered 12.42 meters.
Chalmus Burgess, Jr. tied his career-high with a 11.39-meter throw which placed him eighth.
Next Up
The Trojans will get some much needed rest before heading to Newport News, VA to compete in the Vince Brown Invitational on Sunday, January 29.
