VIRGINIA BEACH, VA- The VSU Men's Indoor Track and Field team get ready for PR's galore in the Virginia Wesleyan's Inaugural Marlin Invitational. The meet will be held at the Virginia Beach Sports Center which is also where the 2023 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held in March.
Top Performers
Atrell Williams (Throws) – Williams threw a season-best 15.02 meters which placed him second of 25 shot putters in the VMI Invitational. This marked his second, second place finish this season. His 15.02 - meter gives him the top mark in the conference.
Devonte Moore (Throws) – Moore threw an indoor personal best with a 14.79-meter shot put throw which placed him third his last time out. His placement continues to improve after finishing sixth in the preliminaries and fifth in the finals of the VCU Indoor Invitational. He has the second his throw in the conference with his recent 14.79-meter toss.
Isaiah Ramadane (Throws)
- Ramadane finished sixth with a 13.84-meter shot put throw. His 14.23-meter throw in the VCU Indoor Invitational is the third best mark in the CIAA.
Joel Bowers (Sprints) – Bowers won his heat after posting a 50.81 which placed him 18
th of 38 in the 400 in the VMI Invitational. He currently has the 12
th best time in the CIAA behind his 50.81.
Jaelan Black (Sprints) -Black placed second in his heat and 22
nd overall in the preliminaries of his first ever 60-meter competition. This was Black's first meet fo the season.
Joseph Briscoe (High Jump) – Briscoe placed third of 10 competitors after his best jump got up to 1.97 meters in the VMI Invitational. The 1.97-meter jump ranks him third in the conference.
Shaukeeme Mitchell-Watson (High Jump) – Watson's best jump was 1.87 meters which placed him fifth in VMI Invitational. His 1.87-meter leap ranks him seventh in the conference.
