ETTRICK, VA – The Virginia State Women's Cross-Country team finished in first place in the Virginia Union University Cross Country Opener 5k Friday afternoon. This is the second meet straight they finished in first place.
The VSU Women's Cross-Country team earned a perfect 15 points yet again this week, which placed them first occupying the 1-8 spots.
Manuelene Deigh was the first Trojan to finish the race posting a 21:32.2 with a 6:55.1 mile split, which placed her first of 13 runners.
A place away came her twin sister
Manuela Deigh finishing in a time of 21:39.4 with a 6:58.2 split which placed her second and gave her a new personal best.
Miracle Price finished her race in a personal record 21:51.4, with a 7:02.1 mile split which gave her a third place finish.
Sania Peterson also earned herself a personal record as she finished in fourth place after posting 22:23.1, with a 7:12 mile split.
Alandina Hyppolite finished her race in 23:03.4 with a 7:25.2 mile split which gave her a fifth place finish.
Shashauna Valentine concluded her race in 23:16 with a 7:29.4 mile split which placed her in sixth place .
Ruby Williams finished a place behind in seventh posting a time of 23:17.7 with a 7:29.8 mile split.
Jordan Burzynski rounded out her race in eighth place behind a time of 27:20.2 with a 8:47.8 mile split
The Trojans Men's and Women's Cross-Country teams will be right back in Rogers stadium next week to host the Virginia State University Invitational on Friday, September 23 at 4:00 p.m.
