RALEIGH, NC – The Virginia State women's bowling team prepares to redeem themselves heading into the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Event I in Raleigh, N.C. hosted by Shaw University on Nov. 11-13 at the Stars and Strikes Family Entertainment Center located at 4020 Capital Blvd, Raleigh, NC 27604.
Seven other CIAA institutions competing this weekend will join the Trojans, including Virginia Union, Bowie State, Elizabeth City State of the Northern Division and Fayetteville State, Johnson C. Smith, Livingstone and Shaw of the Southern Division.
The tournament will kick off on Friday (11/11) at 10:40 a.m. with team matches one through five, followed by team matches (1-4) on Saturday (11/12). Baker matches is set for Sunday (11/13) at 8:40 a.m.
Virginia State is coming off a 0-12 overall record at the VUU Invitational last weekend in Richmond, VA. As a team, the Trojans highest game was 498 during the third baker's match, which was against the Lady Bulldogs of Bowie State. Individually, freshman Jeane' Robinson finished first for the Trojans and 25th overall with a bowling average (109.60) from 548 pinfalls to lead the Trojans. Her highest game was 138 during game two
