INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Selection Show will air at 10:30 p.m. (ET) on NCAA.com as the 64-team 2020 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championship field will be announced. Virginia State is currently ranked No. 7 in the Atlantic Region as of March 1.
 

Despite the Trojans loss in the quarterfinals of the 2020 CIAA Basketball Tournament on February 26, the teams early season victory over East Stroudsburg not only helped propel VSU to a 19-9 overall record, but remain regionally ranked.
 

Rankings are based on a series of factors that include your win loss percentage within the region and all NCAA Division II contest. The eight person national committee will also evaluate each team Strength of Schedule, Performance Indicator, RPI, wins, loss percentage versus ranked teams, common opponents and head to head competition if any. The final selection will include three automatic bids to the conference champions from the CIAA, Mountain East, and the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. There will be five at large teams selected to complete the field.
