ETTRICK, Va. – The Virginia State University women's basketball team (2-1) will hit the road as they travel to Raleigh, North Carolina to compete in the Shaw University tournament on Friday, November 16
th through Saturday, November 17
th. Virginia State will face the University of Puerto Rico-Bayamon on Friday, November 16th. Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m. at C.C. Spaulding Gymnasium.
The Trojans enters Friday's contest coming off a 88-71 victory over Paine College on Monday, November 12

Chrisanna Green led the way for the Trojans securing her second double-double of the season with season-high 19 points and 10 rebounds.Green scored 19 points in 37 minutes of play. The Jamestown, New York native was 6-of-10 from the line and finished with 10 rebounds and one steal.
Yazmen Hannah recorded a game-high 17 points, three rebounds, three assists and five steals.

> Virginia State was 31-of-59 (32.9 percent) shooting and 20-of-34 (67.7 percent) from the charity stripe
> Paine College shot 30.8 percent (25-of-57) from the floor and 71.4 percent (16-of-22) from the free-throw line
> VSU registered 32 rebounds, while Paine recorded 37 rebounds
> Virginia State finished with 40 points in the paint, 27 points off Paine turnovers and nine second-chance points
> Paine tallied 12 points in the paint, 19 points off VSU turnovers and eight second-chance points

Following the contest, Virginia State will travel to Greeneville, Tennessee for a non-conference matchup against Tusculum College on Monday, Nov. 19th at 5:30 p.m.
