ETTRICK, Va. (Sept. 28, 2026) – The Virginia State University women's basketball team has announced its 2026-27 schedule, featuring a full slate of non-conference and CIAA competition throughout the season. 

The Trojans will begin the season with a pair of exhibition contests, traveling to Norfolk State University on Nov. 2 before facing Old Dominion University on Nov. 5 in Norfolk, Virginia. 

Virginia State will officially open the regular season at home on Nov. 10 against the University of the District of Columbia at 5:30 p.m. The Trojans will then travel to Indiana, Pennsylvania, for games against Davis & Elkins on Nov. 14 and Point Park on Nov. 15. 

The Trojans return home for three consecutive contests, beginning with Winston-Salem State on Nov. 19, followed by Bluefield State on Nov. 24 and Cheyney University on Nov. 27. 

VSU will close out November on the road at Millersville on Nov. 30 before opening December with a three-game homestand against Shaw University on Dec. 3, Elizabeth City State on Dec. 5 and Livingstone College on Dec. 10. 

The Trojans will continue their December schedule with road contests at Fayetteville State on Dec. 12 and Bowie State on Dec. 15 before traveling to Lincoln University on Dec. 19. 

Virginia State opens the new year at home against Chowan University on Jan. 1. The Trojans will then host Claflin University on Jan. 7 and Johnson C. Smith University on Jan. 9 before beginning a stretch that includes road contests at Winston-Salem State, Bluefield State and Shaw University. 

VSU will return home to face Virginia Union University on Jan. 16 and Livingstone College on Jan. 30. The Trojans will also host Elizabeth City State, Fayetteville State, Lincoln University and Bowie State during the February portion of the schedule. 

The regular season will conclude with road contests against Claflin University on Feb. 13, Johnson C. Smith University on Feb. 16 and Virginia Union University on Feb. 19. The CIAA Tournament is scheduled for Feb. 23-27.
