Box Score ETTRICK, Va.- The Trojans wrap up day one of the Trojan Tip-Off Classic with a 65-59 loss to Slippery Rock University in Daniel Gymnasium.
VSU shot 37.1 percent from the floor in the first half making 13 of their 35 shots. The Trojans shot 37.5 percent from behind the arc and were 80 percent on free throw shooting.
In the second half the Trojans struggled at the line shooting only 20 percent; while shooting 34.4 percent from the floor, and 15.4 percent from 3pt range.
The Trojans ended the game shooting 35.8 percent from the field, 23.8 percent behind the arc, and 40 percent from the line.
Junior
Elijah Moore (Yorktown, VA) led the Trojans scoring 19 points, four blocks, two steals, and grabbing six boards. Junior
Kevin Williams (Franklinton, NC) added 11 points, four assist, and two steals on the evening.
Freshman
Joseph Bradshaw (Silver Springs, MD) led the Trojans defensively recording 8 rebounds and 8 points.
Virginia State University will host Glenville State College tomorrow, Saturday, November 14, in Daniel Gymnasium at 8 p.m to end the Tip-Off Classic.
The Virginia State Department of Athletics annual 1,000 cans, 1 goal campaign initiative is underway. The canned food items collected will be donated to the local food banks. The Department encourages all fans, alumni, faculty and friends to bring a canned food item to all of the home volleyball and football games this season.
