Box Score ETTRICK, Va.- The VSU men's basketball team fell short of a win against the University of Charleston Golden Eagles on December 16 with a final score of 63-68. The Trojans currently have a 7-3 overall record.

VSU shot 37.7 percent (23-61) from the field, 14.3 percent (2-14) from behind the arc and 68.2 percent (15-22) from the free throw line.

Senior Alphonso Leary led the game in scoring collecting 17 points. Leary also added 7 rebounds to the books. Freshman Tyler Peterson brought in 15 points while senior Lamar Kearse secured 12 points. Senior Tyrece Little tallied 11 points and 9 rebounds for the night.

VSU finished the first in the lead with a score of 33-30, but was not able to close the gap in the final minutes of the second half.

The Trojans will begin 2015 with a conference game against Fayetteville State on Saturday, January 3 at 5:30 p.m. in Daniel Gymnasium.
