Box Score ETTRICK, Va. – The Virginia State University Men's basketball team fell, 76-69 to Concord University in Daniel Gymnasium during opening day of the 2014 Trojans Tip-off Classic, Friday evening.
With the loss, the Trojans fall to 0-1 on the season; while the Mountain Lions improve to 1-0 overall on the season.
VSU shot 44 percent from the floor in the first half making eleven of its 25 shots; while hitting only 20 percent of its shots from behind the arch and 66.7 percent from the charity stripe.
In the second half, Virginia State struggled from the field shooting only 28.6 percent. The Trojans made 33.3 percent of their shots from behind the three point line; while shooting 76 percent from the line.
VSU finished the game shooting 37 percent from the field, 27.3 percent from behind the arch, and 72.5 percent from the line.

Lamar Kearse led the Trojans with 14 points while grabbing four boards on the evening. Senior
Tyrece Little rounded out the double-digit scoring with eleven points and five rebounds.
Senior
Alphonso Leary led VSU defensively with eight rebounds; while adding eight points in the effort.
Virginia State hosts UVA-Wise today, Saturday, November 15 in Daniel Gymnasium at 6 p.m. to conclude its Tip-off Classic.
