Flagler Defeats Virginia State in Women’s Lacrosse Action

Ettrick, Va. (Mar. 21, 2026) — The Virginia State University women's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference matchup to Flagler College, 25-3, Saturday afternoon at Rogers Stadium.

Flagler set the tone early, scoring 11 goals in the opening quarter to take control of the contest. The Saints continued to build their lead in the second period before the Trojans found the scoreboard late in the half.

Sophomore Bryelle Small got Virginia State on the board with an unassisted goal at the 1:01 mark of the second quarter. The Trojans added two more scores in the third period as Carea Tuck and Kayla Carroll-Williams each found the back of the net to cut into the deficit.

Defensively, goalkeeper Ilyana Jones recorded a team-high eight saves while facing 39 shots. Virginia State also went a perfect 6-for-6 on clear attempts and secured nine draw controls in the game.

Flagler was paced offensively by multiple players, including Carley Tepel, Taylor Halloran, and Emily Cutair, who each scored three goals.
