Trojans Fall to St. Thomas Aquinas at Home

ETTRICK, Va. — The Virginia State University men's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference matchup to St. Thomas Aquinas College, 21–2, on Saturday afternoon in Ettrick.

St. Thomas Aquinas opened the scoring late in the first quarter and carried a 1–0 lead into the second period. The Spartans then used a strong offensive surge in the second quarter, scoring seven goals to take an 8–1 advantage into halftime.

Andre Bigham led the Trojans offensively with both of Virginia State's goals. Bigham first found the back of the net midway through the second quarter to put VSU on the board and later added a man-up goal in the fourth quarter off an assist from Devray Kirkland II.

Virginia State battled throughout the contest, creating several scoring opportunities while receiving solid efforts in goal. Jace Wiggins recorded multiple saves in the first three quarters before Arjun Warrier came on in relief late in the fourth.
