Trojans Cruise Past UDC, 18–3

ETTRICK, Va. (Mar. 11, 2026) — The Virginia State University women's lacrosse team delivered a dominant performance on Wednesday afternoon, defeating University of the District of Columbia 18–3 at home.

The Trojans (2–3) set the tone early, scoring five goals in the opening quarter and never looking back. VSU continued to apply pressure in the second quarter with six more goals to take an 11–0 lead into halftime.

Virginia State's offense remained strong throughout the contest, adding four goals in the third quarter and three more in the fourth to seal the convincing victory.

Leading the offensive charge were Carea TuckNakiyah Jones, and Unique Anthony, who each scored three goals for the Trojans. Tuck also contributed three assists to finish with a game-high six points.

Kayla Carroll-Williams and Jhalin Hooks each added two goals, while Bryelle SmallSophia ToyeRylie BanksMilan Poole, and Emily Shields each found the back of the net once.

VSU controlled the pace of play throughout the game, outshooting UDC 46–9 and placing 31 shots on goal. The Trojans also held an advantage in draw controls, 18–6, helping them maintain possession and keep the Firebirds on the defensive.

UDC was led by Jada Williams, who scored two goals, and Najee Gunter, who recorded a goal and an assist.

Virginia State also received assists from Aniyah WhiteKayla Carroll-Williams, and Rylie Banks, contributing to the team's balanced offensive effort.
