Ettrick, Va (Sept. 25, 2025) --The Virginia State volleyball team got the job done in three sets (25-21, 25-23, 25-23) to beat the Bowie State Bulldogs Thursday at home at Multipurpose Center.

The conference victory improved Virginia State's record to 2-7 overall and 1-0 in CIAA play.

Amaya Cooper finished with 14 kills on the day to lead the Trojans offense while finishing with a hitting percentage of .522. got 13 digs from Kellee Craig to lead them defensively.

SET 2 | Virginia State won the second set 25-23 to promptly grab a 2-0 lead. The Trojans persevered in a back-and-forth set to win in a stanza that featured four lead changes and was tied nine times. Neither team led by more than four points along the way. The Trojans racked up 18 kills over the course of the set.
