Ettrick, Va. (May 22, 2025)- Virginia State University jumpers Joseph Briscoe and Jahaz Morgan have both qualified for the Division 2 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Pueblo, Colorado. 

Briscoe currently sits in sixth place for the high jump standings with a mark of 2.14 meters (7' 0.25") which he accomplished at the CIAA Championships. Morgan will be participating in the Triple Jump where he is ranked 20th with his mark of 15.32 meters (50' 3.25") which he also accomplished in the CIAA Championships.  

Both Briscoe and Morgan are the only athletes to participate in their events from HBCU's.  

Yacouba Gnacko of Academy of Art holds the top spot in the triple jump with a mark of 15.89 meters (52' 1.75") and Jaivon Harrison of Grad Valley State leads in the high jump at 2.26 meters (7'5").  

The high jump competition starts Saturday May 24 at 3:45 PDT while the triple jump happens on Friday May 23 at 4:05 PDT. Live scoring and live stream will be available both provided by the NCAA.
