Ettrick, Va. (Feb. 26, 2025)-The Virginia State University women's Lacrosse team dropped the match 24-10 against Wilmington University.
The Wildcats scored the first six goals in the first quarter before Kayla Carroll-Williams got VSU on the board. However, going into the second quarter WU would hold an 8-1 advantage. WU would score first in the second stanza but then Carroll-Williams would net another goal. Both teams would then score three straight goals with Aniyah White scoring her first college goal during that span. The Wildcats added two more than just as the half was ending Rylie Banks scored to make it a 13-6 halftime score.
Wilmington outscored the Trojans 11-4 over the final 30 minutes. Rylie Banks scored two more goals, White added another and Unique Anthony scored her first collegiate goal. VSU was out shot 35-19.
The Trojans move to 0-3 in the early season and will hit the road for a game against University of District Columbia on Saturday March 1 at 11 AM
