Ettrick, Va. (Feb. 14, 2025)- The Virginia State University Women's Lacrosse team dropped their home opener 20-3 against University of Mary Washington to open season two.
The Eagles got on the board two minutes into the first period, but Carea Tuck answered 15 seconds later to tie the game. UMW would then score seven straight goals to extend their lead 8-1 early into the second quarter. Jhalin Hooks would end the run at the 10:54 mark of the quarter. However, four more goals from Mary Washington made it a 12-2 halftime score.
Jamilah Daniels would get on the board first in the second half scoring five minutes into the third quarter. The Eagles would score the final eight goals to win 20-3. Four different Trojans had two ground balls and Noel Johnson-Montoya added two caused turnovers.
VSU will play February 24 at 1 pm against the University of Charleston inside Rogers Stadium.
