Trojans secure 3-set sweep against Lincoln (PA)

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA --The Virginia State volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 victory (25-13, 25-15, 25-14) against the Lincoln (PA) Lions Thursday on the road at Manuel Rivero Hall.

The conference win improved Virginia State's record to 10-9 overall and 9-2 in CIAA play.

Noa Roberts finished with eight kills on the day to lead the Trojans attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .400. VSU got 19 digs from Kellee Craig to lead them defensively.

SET 2 | Virginia State continued to roll after a set-one win by earning a 25-15 victory in set two. The Trojans grabbed control of the set lead early on at 2-1 and never trailed. Virginia State led by as many as 10 points at 23-13 before finishing off the set. The Virginia State offense also got a boost from five aces in the stanza.

SET 3 | Virginia State then ended the match with a victory in set number three. The Trojans took control of the set early when the score was 2-1 and never looked back to win 25-14. Virginia State led by 12 points at 19-7 before closing out the stanza. The Virginia State offense also got a boost from five aces in the stanza.
